Every serious athlete understands the importance of a regular self-care. Sports massage helps increase blood circulation, promotes muscle growth and encourages a fast recovery ensuring you are fit and ready to perform again as soon as possible. First, during an initial consultation, your therapist does a postural analysis and asks about any muscles that require special attention. Your treatment may include the entire body or one specific area or muscle group. Then your therapist asks you to undress to your comfort level and leaves the room. Once you are ready, your therapist begins by warming your muscles with light compressions. Then the therapist uses a combination of long gliding strokes, kneading, trigger point release, stretches and pulls to perform the massage. After the massage, your therapist discusses a self-care plan or recommends a follow-up treatment, if necessary. If you want to compete at the top of your game, sports massage is an essential part of your self-care and routine maintenance.
