gender parity initiative
Gender Parity poses a global economic challenge, with potential for adding $28 trillion to the global economy if women participated equally.
However, existing barriers have hindered this progress. In Africa, despite women constituting over 50% of the population, they only contributed 33% to the GDP in 2018. Failure to achieve gender parity could result in a loss of $316 billion to the African economy by 2025.
To unlock Africa's full potential, women must be included. This podcast series by GAIA AFRICA focuses on the 5 priority areas identified in the McKinsey 2019 Power of Parity report for Nigeria to achieve gender parity.
