JOHNSON OMOBOLA

Dr Omobola Johnson is Senior Partner of TLcom Capital, a venture capital firm with recent focus on deal flow generation, investment, and value generation in technology companies in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining TLcom Capital, Omobola was Minister of Communication Technology, Nigeria from 2011 to 2015, focusing on the launch and execution of the National Broadband Plan, and the support of the Nigerian technology industry, including the pioneering involvement of the government in a local VC fund and a network of start-up incubators. Prior to serving in the Nigerian government, she gained over 25 years of consulting experience with Accenture including five years as Country Managing Director, working with companies in a variety of industries, transforming them into more competitive and dynamic organizations. Omobola serves on the Board of a number of leading Nigerian and multi-national corporations. She also serves on the Board of the World Wide Web Foundation and is the Founding Chairperson and Trustee, Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ). Omobola has a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester, a Master’s in Digital Electronics from King’s College, London and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the School of Management of Cranfield University. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna award from Cranfield University and the Lagos Business School.
ILUYEMI TEMITOPE

Mrs. Temitope ‘Tope’ Iluyemi, is the Director, Global Government Relations for Africa at P&G. Following a short career as a Pharmacist, Temitope joined P&G Nigeria in 1998. In her over 20years career with P&G, she has distinguished herslf with a breadth of roles spanning across commercial and corporate functions (Sales, Markey strategy and planning, Supply Network operations, External relations and Government Relations). In this timeframe, Mrs Iluyemi has lived and worked across Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana,Togo and united States delivering significant value to P&G across various spheres of work. In 2017, she relocated back to Nigeria after a successful posting to Washington D.C. Temitope’s Government relations role was expanded and today spans across 54countries in Africa. In her current role as Government relations Director, she is responsible for improving P&G’s investment viability across the region, advocating for policy reforms that enable business operations including deepening Africa’s integration, building P&G’s reputation across the countries with a P&G reach and supporting company communications for Nigeria. She is sought after as a key contributor to development solutions in the Africa region. Temitope is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, sits on the board of directors for P&G Nigeria, Chairs the taskforce on trade facilitation at the US Chamber of commerce, sits on the Trade commission of the NESG and is involved in various local community projects. Mrs Iluyemi was recognized among the Top 50 Leading ladies in Corporate Nigeria 2019, selected among women who made impact in 2019 by the Guardian publication and recognized with a Honoris causa doctorate of Arts in 2019. Temitope currently lives in Lagos Nigeria with her family.

FUBARA-OBINWA STELLA

Stella Fubara is a Director of International operations with the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM); the principal authority for the planning, supervision, development, and marketing of Dubai’s tourism sector. She is also the 2017 recipient of the West Africa Travel Personality of the Year award. Stella overseas the Tourism & Marketing activities for the Government of Dubai in all Sub Saharan African countries with a specific focus on: Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Zambia. An accomplished leader in business and finance management, Stella has over two decades of impressive executive management. She is responsible for the operations of Dubai Tourism in Africa in line with the ultimate vision of positioning Dubai as the world’s leading tourism destination and commercial hub. Stella began her Professional career in 1999 as Financial Portfolio Manager at a global company, Owens Corning USA. In 2001 she moved on to become Senior Project Controller at Deloitte & Touche, where she set a remarkable standard for usage of tools and project management techniques for Deloitte projects on the East coast. In 2003 she moved to Florida to take on the role of Project Finance Manager at Walt Disney World in Orlando, one of the most visited vacation resort and entertainment complexes in the world. Eventually assuming the Division Finance Manager position for the parks Costume & Cosmetology division. When Stella moved to Wyndham Vacation Hotels & Resorts in 2007, as Director of Marketing Operations, her exceptional policy formulation skills and sublime financial management dexterity benefited Wyndham a great deal, resulting in additional responsibility for her as Director Operational Finance & Compensation. Her zeal for innovation and opportunity positioned her to make a continental move to Wakanow.com; one of the fastest growing and largest internet travel sites in Africa in 2013, as Chief Marketing and Product development officer before her current role in Dubai. Stella demonstrates effective management capabilities in areas of finance, forecasting, marketing strategy, product/business development and policy formulation. She also exhibits excellent leadership delivered in an efficient training team building spirit. Stella is a Rotarian very actively involved in promoting non-profit and tourism growth activities across Africa, that empower entrepreneurs in many industries. She is a frequent guest speaker/lecturer on Rotary platforms, tertiary educational institutions, private business forums, and government tourism platforms for many African countries. Stella has won many awards in recent years, including 2017 & 2018 Balafon West Africa Travel Personality of the Year, Top 100 Women in Tourism, 2018 Best Travel Destination, 2018 SpiceTV Lifestyle Honoree for Best Destination, 2019 Africa 100 Most Inspiring Women, amongst others. Stella obtained a B.Sc in Business Management from Franklin University Columbus, Ohio, as well as a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & International Marketing.
MIANNAYA ESSIEN

Miannaya Aja Essien, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (since 2007), Chartered Arbitrator, Notary Public, is an alumnus of the Universities of Nigeria and Lagos. She obtained her LLB (Hons.) and LL.M. respectively in 1984 and 1991 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in August 1985. She is the Managing Partner of Principles Law Partnership (www.principleslaw.com) a firm of legal practitioners, notaries public and arbitrators with offices in Port Harcourt and Lagos. She is the immediate past Chairperson of the Section on Legal Practice of the Nigerian Bar Association. She is a member of the adjunct faculty of the Nigerian Law School Abuja and an approved Tutor of the faculty of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (United Kingdom) teaching all aspects of domestic and international commercial arbitration. She is experienced and actively involved (both as counsel and arbitrator) in the resolution of complex commercial disputes across the oil and gas, commercial, financial and insurance sectors. She acts regularly as party appointed arbitrator or chairperson of various arbitral tribunals. She is on the board of the Lagos Court of Arbitration and is a member of several associations including the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Law Association (Nigerian Branch), the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria, LCIA (African Users’ Council) and ICCA. She is a member of Council of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association. She is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc. and Non-Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Trustees Limited.
EMUWA ANGELA

Mrs Angela Olufunmilayo Emuwa is a seasoned veteran in the Nigerian Journalism industry serving as the current Chairman of one of Nigeria’s leading publishers, Punch Nigeria Limited, a post she took on in 2018. Mrs Emuwa has a Post graduate diploma in Business Administration and an MBA in Public Relations & Advertising. Before taking on the role of chairman, she was a member of the Board of Directors at Punch. In 2000, Mrs Emuwa was the Head of Operations, Nigeria at News Africa, A London based company set up to serve the news and information needs of Africa and Africans in the Diaspora. In 1995, she was the Advertising Sales Director at Africa Today, a London based company that publishes peer-reviewed, scholarly articles and book reviews in a broad range of academic disciplines on topics related to contemporary Africa. In her early career years, she also worked at Newswatch Communications Limited for 9 years and occupied the positions of Advert Executive, Senior Advert Executive, Advert Manager, and Corporate Affairs Manager. Mrs Emuwa’s passion for supporting Parents of Autistic children led her to become the President of The Autism Parents Association International, an NGO for Nigerian parents of autistic children. In like manner, she is the immediate past Chairperson of Golden Hearts Touching Lives Initiative, an NGO that caters for persons with special needs and the indigent.

Ademidun Edosomwan (Demi) is the Managing Director of the Emerging Markets group of Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures (TCNV). TCNV is the venture capital arm of Total, the global energy company. She leads Total’s investment activities in emerging markets (primarily Africa) with a focus on energy access, sustainable mobility and enabling technology. Demi joined Total in 2006 and has held various positions in Paris, Kampala & Lagos. Prior to Total, she worked with KPMG in Lagos. Demi trained as a lawyer and has an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
